"How much does a website cost?" is the first question almost every client asks. The honest answer is "it depends on the project," but that answer doesn't help anyone. So in this article we break the price down piece by piece: how much different types of websites cost in Kazakhstan in 2026, what work goes into an estimate, what expenses come up after launch, and where you can save without sacrificing quality.

We are Studio Nomad, a web studio based in Almaty. We build websites, online stores, portals, and CRM systems with our own code, without templates, and our portfolio includes more than 70 projects. The prices below are our actual starting prices, while the market ranges are reference points to help you compare offers from different providers.

In short: website prices in 2026

If you need a quick answer, here are Studio Nomad's starting prices for the main project types. "From" means the minimum package: custom design, responsive layout, a content management system, and basic SEO setup. Anything beyond that is added to the estimate as separate line items.

Why website prices vary so much

In Kazakhstan's market, you can find offers like "a website for 50,000 ₸" alongside estimates of several million for a project that looks similar on the surface. Usually it isn't about the provider being greedy or generous, but about what exactly the work includes and who does it.

Website builders and ready-made templates

The cheapest option is to put a site together yourself with a website builder or buy a ready-made theme. You only pay for a subscription or license, but you handle the design, structure, and copy yourself. Such a site launches quickly, but it's hard to adapt to non-standard needs, and as the business grows, you often have to start over.

Freelance developer

Freelancers usually charge anywhere from a few tens of thousands to a couple hundred thousand tenge for a simple website. It's a workable option for a small project if the developer is reliable. The risks: one person is responsible for design, code, and SEO, and once the project is handed over, they can be hard to reach for further changes.

Web studio

At a studio, a team works on your project: an analyst or project manager, a designer, front-end and back-end developers, and an SEO specialist. The price is higher, but you get a process: a technical specification, an approved design, testing, a contract, a warranty, and support. On the market, studio projects typically start at several hundred thousand tenge for a landing page and at half a million for a full-fledged corporate website.

What goes into the cost of a website

The estimate for any website is the sum of specialists' hours spent on specific stages. Let's look at where the money goes.

1. Analysis and technical specification

We study the business, competitors, and audience, then put together the page structure and feature list. A good specification saves money: without one, the project gets more expensive because of rework at later stages.

2. Prototype and design

First we create prototypes — page layouts without visual styling — and then design for desktop and mobile. Custom design costs more than a template, but your site reflects your brand and doesn't look like hundreds of others.

3. Front-end layout and programming

This is the largest part of the work. We write our own code without templates and build a content management system where you can change text, photos, prices, and sections yourself. The more unique pages and features — calculators, filters, user accounts — the higher the cost.

4. Integrations

Connecting the website to other systems: online payments via Kaspi Pay or bank card acquiring, data exchange with 1C and MoySklad, sending inquiries to your CRM, delivery services, and analytics. Each integration is a separate piece of work with its own documentation and testing.

5. Language versions

This is a common requirement in Kazakhstan: Russian, Kazakh, and English versions. Multilingual support is built into the architecture, while translation and proofreading are a separate cost item.

6. Content population

Text, photos, product listings. You can hand us ready-made materials or order turnkey content population — the second option costs more, but the site launches without placeholder text or empty sections.

7. SEO foundation and launch

We set up meta tags, the sitemap, loading speed, and responsiveness, connect analytics, and move the site to the server. Basic on-page optimization is included in development: fixing SEO errors after launch always costs more.

8. Warranty and support

After launch, a website needs updates, backups, and minor edits. For our clients, the warranty and technical maintenance are free for 24 months.

Prices by website type: what's included

Landing page — from 200,000 ₸

A single-page website built for one goal: selling a service, collecting inquiries for a promotion, or launching an ad campaign. The basic package includes the structure and sales-focused sections, custom design, responsive layout, an inquiry form, and an admin panel. The price goes up if you need complex animation, a quiz, a calculator, multiple languages, or CRM integration.

Brochure website — from 200,000 ₸

A few pages: about the company, services, contact details, and sometimes a portfolio. It suits small businesses and independent professionals who need an online presence and a clear point of contact. A brochure site can easily be expanded into a corporate website if the architecture is set up correctly from the start.

Corporate website — from 500,000 ₸

The core product for companies: sections about the organization, its services and products, news, job openings, documents, inquiry forms, and multiple language versions. The cost depends on the number of unique page templates, the catalog, integrations with a CRM or 1C, and a client account area. Examples of such projects include websites for Kia Kazakhstan, Centras Insurance, BCC Invest, and universities — you can see them in our portfolio.

Online store — from 900,000 ₸

A catalog with filters, product pages, a cart, checkout, online payment, a customer account, and integration with your accounting system and delivery services. The typical range for an online store is from 900,000 to 2,000,000 ₸; the price depends on the number of products, the complexity of the catalog, and the integrations.

Portal, marketplace, or web service — from 800,000 ₸

Projects with multiple user types: sellers and buyers, user accounts, moderation, ratings, payments, API. This is where prices vary the most: a small service fits within the starting price, while a marketplace with complex logic is estimated individually and is often launched in phases, starting with an MVP.

Post-launch expenses: what to include in your budget

Development is a one-time cost. But a website also has recurring expenses that are better to know about in advance:

  • Domain. A .kz or .com domain name is renewed annually at the registrar's rates.
  • Hosting or server. Inexpensive hosting is enough for a brochure website, while an online store or portal needs a high-performance server.
  • Promotion. Our SEO services cost from 100,000 ₸/month, and an SEO audit from 50,000 ₸. Ad budgets for Google Ads and Yandex Direct are paid to the platforms separately.
  • Support. Free for 24 months for our clients. For websites built by other teams, technical support costs from 50,000 ₸/month.
  • Paid services. Licenses, third-party APIs, and SMS campaigns, if your project needs them.

How to save without sacrificing quality

  • Launch in phases. Start with the key pages and features that bring in inquiries, then expand. For example, an online store can start as an online catalog, with payments and customer accounts added in the second phase.
  • Prepare your materials. Providing the text, photos, price list, and service descriptions yourself reduces the scope of work and shortens the timeline.
  • Don't pay for "just in case" features. Every feature should solve a specific business need.
  • Pay in installments. We offer installment plans of up to 12 months with no banks and no extra charges: development follows a schedule, and the load on your budget is spread out.
  • Don't choose on price alone. A website you have to rebuild a year later ends up costing more than one built on a solid technical foundation from the start.

Timeline and price: how they're connected

The cost of a website depends almost directly on how much time the team spends on it. That's why the timeline is a good way to sanity-check an estimate: if someone promises you an online store with integrations in a week, they're most likely talking about a ready-made template. Approximate timelines for typical projects:

  • landing page — from two weeks;
  • brochure website — from three to four weeks;
  • corporate website — from one and a half to three months;
  • online store — from two to four months;
  • portal or marketplace — from three months, often in phases.

You can shorten the timeline with quick approvals, ready-made materials, and a phased launch. On the other hand, rushing to hit a specific date usually increases the price: the team has to work on several stages in parallel.

Frequently asked questions about website cost

Can I get a website for less than 200,000 ₸?

Yes — with a website builder or a freelance developer. For testing an idea or a temporary page, that's a reasonable route. We work with custom design and our own code, so we don't go below that threshold. If your budget is limited, it's more practical to split the payment into installments than to cut corners on quality.

Why does an online store cost more than a corporate website?

An online store has more logic: a catalog with filters, stock levels, a cart, payments, order statuses, and data exchange with the accounting system and delivery services. Each of these features has to be designed, programmed, and tested against real purchase scenarios.

Are the domain and hosting included in the price?

Usually the domain and hosting are paid for separately at the providers' rates. We recommend registering the domain in your company's name — that way, you remain the owner of your website address no matter what.

Can the price change during the project?

The price, timeline, and scope of work are fixed in the contract. If new tasks come up during the project, we estimate them separately and agree on them with you before the work begins — no surprises on the final invoice.

How to get an accurate estimate

  1. Describe your project: what you sell, who your customers are, and which competitor websites you like.
  2. We hold a call or a meeting at our office in Almaty to clarify the features and integrations.
  3. We prepare a commercial proposal with stages, timelines, and cost.
  4. We sign a contract that sets out the price, timeline, and warranty.
